Human Resources (HR) Specialist Job Description

In Canada, the HR specialist plays a key role in supporting the overall HR function within the organization. This position is responsible for providing administrative and operational support across various HR areas, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and payroll. The HR Specialist works closely with the human resources (HR) team to ensure efficient and effective HR processes.

Typical human resources (HR) specialist duties:

Provide administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining HR records. Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews. Onboard new employees by completing necessary paperwork, conducting orientations, and providing information about company policies and benefits. Maintain employee records and personnel files in compliance with data privacy and security regulations. Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and claims resolution. Answer employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
