Human Resources (HR) Benefits Specialist Job Description

Assists with the operational management of domestic health programs, 401(k) plans or Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs), and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Regularly examines organization’s benefits programs and policies to determine if they are competitive with similar organizations, and recommends enhancements as appropriate. Helps employees register for benefit plans, serves as the primary contact for benefits-related questions or complaints, and works directly with vendors to resolve issues. Excellent computer, interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements is also essential.
