At this level, credit analysts must have Excel and financial-modeling skills, along with strong writing and verbal abilities and an understanding of financial statement review. Banks look for candidates who can work effectively with colleagues at all levels and have proven problem-solving skills. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least a year of experience working in credit are required.

Typical credit analyst — 1-3 years' experience duties:
