This role provides enterprise-wide guidance on architectural standards, security, and digital transformation, in line with New Zealand regulatory and compliance frameworks.

Enterprise Architect duties and responsibilities of the job

Key responsibilities of an Enterprise Architect include:Defining and maintaining enterprise architecture frameworks and roadmaps aligned with business strategyLeading enterprise-wide technology initiatives including system integration, cloud adoption, and digital transformationEnsuring architectural compliance with the NZ Privacy Act, ISO 27001, and relevant New Zealand Government security guidanceCollaborating with executives, product owners, and technical teams to drive strategic technology decisionsOverseeing architectural governance and ensuring consistency across platforms and solutionsEvaluating emerging technologies and recommending enterprise adoption to support scalability and resilienceFacilitating architecture reviews, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analysis of proposed solutionsSupporting the development of data governance policies and integration strategies across business unitsProviding mentoring and technical leadership across architecture and development teams

Enterprise Architect job qualifications and requirements

A degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field is required. Certifications such as TOGAF or SABSA are highly regarded.Requirements include:10+ years’ experience in architecture roles, with at least 3 years at the enterprise levelDemonstrated experience aligning IT strategy with business objectives in large or complex organisationsStrong understanding of New Zealand data governance, cybersecurity, and privacy regulationsExpertise in cloud strategy, integration frameworks, and enterprise application designProven leadership in architectural governance and stakeholder engagementExcellent communication, facilitation, and strategic planning skills
