    We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our client's team located in Kincardine, Ontario. As the Controller, your primary role will be to manage the accounting functions within the company operations within the construction industry. This includes ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will have a significant role in supporting strategic objectives and collaborating with the management team.


    Responsibilities:

    • Supervising and supporting the accounting team to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.

    • Overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, company policies, and industry standards.

    • Managing month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations.

    • Serving as the key contact for group benefits administration and payroll-related inquiries.

    • Presenting monthly financial statements and conducting variance analysis for leadership.

    • Developing annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

    • Working closely with Project Managers to review monthly project cost reports, investigate variances, and ensure accurate job costing.

    • Monitoring project invoicing and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules for accuracy and completeness.

    • Implementing and maintaining robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.

    • Overseeing asset acquisitions and disposals.

    • Managing inventory processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

    • Identifying opportunities for process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Controller role or related field
    • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
    • Solid understanding of Accounting Functions
    • Proven experience in Auditing
    • Knowledge of Budget Processes
    • Ability to handle Project Accounting tasks
    • Experience with Job Costing techniques
    • Capable of performing Account Reconciliation
    • Skilled in Variance Analysis
