Join Our Team as a Material Specialist!

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Do you thrive in fast-paced settings and enjoy tackling a mix of hands-on and analytical work? If so, we want YOU to join our team as a Material Specialist!

    What You’ll Do:

As a Material Specialist, you'll be at the heart of our production operations, ensuring materials flow efficiently and schedules are met. Your key responsibilities include:

    • Production & Service Part Scheduling: Plan and schedule simple production and service parts with minimal constraints, ensuring alignment with the Deere Production System (kanbans/triggers).
    • Material Coordination: Schedule requirements for materials and expedite both production and purchased parts. Work with other John Deere departments as needed to secure required components.
    • Process Oversight: Coordinate and communicate the implementation of engineering and material changes while assisting production with manpower planning and administrative duties.
    • Inventory Accuracy: Support the department by ensuring inventory integrity and accuracy—including production reporting, scrap reporting, and general material flow functions.
    • Continuous Improvement: Assist with line sequencing of options and provide work direction to team members as necessary.

In this high-impact role, you’ll spend 50% of your time on the shop floor, gaining hands-on experience and collaborating closely with production teams.

    What We Offer:

    • First-Shift Opportunity: Hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with the potential for overtime.
    • Flexibility: Overtime may include extended weekday hours or weekend shifts, and candidates should be willing to work off-shift hours as needed.
    • Forward-Thinking Environment: This position combines 50% shop floor involvement with office-based responsibilities, giving you a diverse and engaging day-to-day experience.
    • Professional Development: As your career develops, our free online training and expertise will help you stay on top of your skills, keep your profile current, and offer insights along the way.

Connect with our team today by calling (563) 359-3995!

    What We’re Looking For:

Education: A 4-year degree in any business-related field.

    Experience:

    • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply! However, preference will be given to candidates with 3–5 years of consistent post-graduation work experience.
    • Manufacturing experience is a plus!
    • Strong computer literacy, particularly with MS Office (Excel), is a must.
