We are on the search for a Controller to join our team in Concord, California. In this role, your main focus will be to manage all financial aspects of the business, including accounting operations, financial reporting, and budgeting. This position is in the manufacturing and construction industry, and thus requires a strong understanding of the related accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accuracy and integrity of all financial data
• Develop, implement, and uphold accounting policies and procedures
• Handle the company's accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll operations
• Manage the closing processes at the end of each month and year
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial performance
• Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders
• Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasting process, including monitoring budget variances and providing explanations for deviations
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements
• Oversee job costing, including tracking project costs and revenue recognition
• Manage and understand the cost of materials, labor, and overhead within a manufacturing and construction environment
• Understand and manage the subcontractor accounting for construction contracts
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment within the accounting team.
• Holder of a job title: Controller
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in 3M software
• Familiarity with various Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Competence in using CRM software
• Ability to use Crystal Reports for data processing and business reporting
• In-depth knowledge of Accounting Functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven skills in Auditing
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Knowledge of Construction Accounting
• Experience in Job Cost accounting
• Ability to handle Month End Close tasks
• Competence in Cash Flow Management
• Proficiency in using Quickbooks Online for accounting purposes
