    Location: Nashville, TN

    Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Level: Mid-Level (3-5 years of relevant litigation experience)

    Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

    About the Firm

Our client, a leading law firm known for achieving landmark victories in high-profile class-action cases, is actively seeking an Associate Attorney to join their dynamic litigation team. The firm represents thousands of clients across a range of significant, high-stakes cases, often challenging major corporations, law firms, and prominent universities. With multiple cases currently at district and federal appellate levels, this firm offers a unique opportunity to work on cases that address critical and often groundbreaking legal issues.

    Position Overview

The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and/or class-action litigation, with additional experience in securities, consumer rights, investments, fiduciary duty, and civil rights litigation considered a plus. This role requires direct engagement with clients, providing significant responsibility in managing complex cases from the outset. Associates in this position will work one-on-one with clients to develop case strategies and will be actively involved in various stages of litigation, including settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.

     Key Responsibilities

    - Work closely with clients to investigate and develop their claims, advising on strategies and approaches for settlement, arbitration, or litigation.

    - Conduct in-depth factual and legal research; draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and mediation and settlement documents.

    - Manage discovery processes, including e-discovery, and assist with and participate in depositions, mediations, trials, and court hearings.

    - Handle substantial portions of litigation, from drafting briefs to arguing motions in court, with opportunities to conduct negotiations directly with opposing counsel.

    - Work under the guidance of senior attorneys while also mentoring legal assistants, ensuring efficient team collaboration on each case.

    - Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout the litigation process, building and maintaining strong client relationships.

     Qualifications

    - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Tennessee (or expected admission shortly).

    - 3-5 years of complex commercial or class action litigation experience, with a strong preference for candidates with clerkship experience.

    - Proven track record in drafting and arguing substantive briefs, taking and defending depositions, and direct involvement in trial preparation and courtroom appearances.

    - Familiarity with large-scale discovery and e-discovery tools and practices.

    - Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.

     Preferred Skills and Experience

    - Background or demonstrated interest in securities, fiduciary duty, consumer rights, investments, and civil rights litigation.

    - Experience with mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods.

    - Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exhibiting strong decision-making skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers significant growth potential, allowing Associates to gain extensive litigation experience while working alongside some of the best legal minds in complex class-action litigation. If you are driven, highly motivated, and prepared to take on challenging cases that make a real impact, we encourage you to apply.
