As part of a non-profit organization, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements and assets.     Responsibilities:

    • Lead the General Ledger team, ensuring the provision of detail-oriented development opportunities.

    • Provide training and offer technical assistance as necessary.

    • Conduct research and offer guidance on technical accounting topics, as well as new and emerging accounting guidelines, consulting with external experts when required.

    • Oversee the monthly closing process, including managing reconciliations.

    • Record journal entries to reflect monthly activities.

    • Carry out treasury functions in cash management and act as an authorized check signer.

    • Serve as a liaison for Workers Compensation audit.

    • Revise and maintain all Fiscal Services Team policies and procedures.

    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

    • Manage the year-end audit and consolidated statements preparation.

    • Set up and maintain systems and controls to verify the integrity of all processes, systems, data, and reporting.

    • Act as the primary contact for the annual audit and uniform financial report.

    • Prepare and review federal and state tax organizers and initial tax returns.

    • Prepare and file Owner Certified Real Estate Assessment Center filings.

    • Recommend procedural improvements and resolve issues.

    • Supervise other finance and accounting staff as required.

    • Participate in a variety of special projects and develop ad hoc reports as requested.

    • Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Accounting, preferably within a non-profit organization.
    • Proficiency in various Accounting Software Systems.
    • Comprehensive understanding and experience with Accounting Functions.
    • Expertise in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
    • Proven experience with Auditing.
    • Strong knowledge of Budget Processes within a non-profit setting.
    • Excellent skills in Financial Analysis.
    • Demonstrated experience with Forecasting.
    • Experience with Month End Close procedures.
