    We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The role involves pivotal financial management and reporting for our grant-funded programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funders' financial requirements.


    Responsibilities:

    • Liaise with program managers and external auditors for grant audits

    • Assist with the production of financial forecasts, budgets, and various financial reports

    • Ensure adherence to governmental financial regulations and standards

    • Work on the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

    • Maintain financial security through adherence to internal controls and confidentiality protocols

    • Process entries related to expenditures and revenues, verifying the accuracy of entries into financial systems

    • Alert senior staff about any accounting discrepancies for prompt corrections

    • Prepare financial reports for Federal and State grants

    • Assist with general accounting tasks

    • Play a part in the preparation of the annual independent audit, prepare audit work papers, and collaborate with external auditors to furnish information and answer queries.

    • Applicant must have proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Mastery of Bank Reconciliations is required
    • Experience with General Ledger is essential
    • Candidate should be competent in making Journal Entries
    • Ability to handle Month End Close activities is necessary
