    Our client, a rapidly growing, very well capitalized world class leader in their sector, is recruiting for their new Manager of Technical Accounting. This highly visible and challenging position will provide hands on technical accounting leadership, research and interpretation as the company moves forward with cutting edge new global level projects. This role will clearly allow you to add your signature on the organization as the company’s global reach expands.

     

    As part of the core duties for this challenging Manager of Technical Accounting role you will:

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct technical accounting analysis for complex transactions, adhering to US GAAP and document conclusions in formal accounting memos.
    • Stay abreast of evolving US GAAP standards; actively contribute to research, analysis, and implementation of new accounting pronouncements; thoroughly document conclusions in whitepapers.
    • Develop robust accounting policies, processes, and internal controls, ensuring alignment with US GAAP standards.
    • Provide support for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close and financial reporting processes as well as technical accounting areas, footnote disclosures and audit responses
    • Conduct reviews of contracts for accounting/finance implications; document and communicate conclusions as necessary.
    • Drive continuous improvement by enhancing existing accounting-related processes.
    • Assist with foreign country compliance and IFRS/foreign reporting requirements.
    • Collaborate seamlessly with auditors to ensure effective interactions.
    • Undertake additional duties as required and assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Preferably hold a current CPA designation.
    • 5+ years of experience, specializing in technical accounting or accounting policy roles, gained from Big 4/National CPA firm or a public company.
    • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of evolving technical accounting and reporting matters.
    • Showcase proficiency in crafting technical accounting position and policy documents.
    • Exhibit an ability to create intricate accounting models and valuations in Excel.
    • Preferred experience with derivatives and hedging, debt and equity transactions
    • Proven technical written and executive level verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and an ability to consistently meet deadlines.
