Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. You’ll oversee a variety of accounting functions and provide key support to stakeholders in preparing financial statements, completing month-end closing duties, and managing reconciliations. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller, this role is instrumental in helping the business succeed and grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, ensuring correctness and adherence to deadlines
- Complete bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations with exceptional attention to detail
- Assist in generating monthly financial statements and reports
- Collaborate on bank draw preparations for active construction projects, supporting timely and accurate reporting
- Conduct audits of financial information and resolve discrepancies, identifying and implementing process improvements
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced certifications preferred
- 4+ years of professional accounting experience; construction or home building industry background a plus
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, financial reporting, and advanced Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Possession of a minimum of 4 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, with a proven track record of accurate processing and resolving discrepancies.
• Demonstrated expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliation, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and complete.
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations, adept at identifying and rectifying any discrepancies in financial records.
• Solid understanding of General Ledger processes, including the preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Proficiency in creating and managing Journal Entries, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, capable of handling complex functions and large datasets.
• Experience with Month End Close procedures, ensuring all financial reporting is completed within deadlines.
• Knowledge of Sage Accounting Software, with the ability to leverage its features for efficient and accurate accounting.
