We are on the search for a Legal Assistant to join our team, operating in the legal industry, based in Waukdesha, Wisconsin. In this role, you'll be expected to deliver support in litigation defense, manage schedules, and maintain a high level of organization. Your responsibilities will also involve handling electronic filings, conducting website research, and ensuring the accuracy of legal documents.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate case-related tasks while providing assistance to attorneys in managing case files
• Uphold a high standard of organization by tracking deadlines and maintaining case files
• Submit legal documents to courts and agencies using electronic filing systems, ensuring compliance with all filing protocols
• Manage the schedules of attorneys by organizing meetings, court appearances, deadlines, and other critical events
• Retrieve case documents, proceedings, and other relevant information from court and governmental websites
• Review legal documents for accuracy, grammar, and formatting before filing them with courts or other entities
• Monitor and organize incoming correspondence, flagging important communications, and ensuring prompt responses
• Utilize your communication skills to interact with various stakeholders and manage calendar schedules efficiently
• Employ your knowledge of e-filing and litigation documents to ensure the smooth running of defense litigation processes.
• Proficiency in Calendar Management is a must, as the Legal Assistant will have to schedule and manage appointments, deadlines and meetings.
• Strong Communication skills are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
• Experience with e-Filing systems is essential, as the Legal Assistant will be responsible for electronically filing court documents.
• Familiarity with e-File software is required for efficient handling and management of electronic documents.
• Expertise in preparing and managing Litigation Documents, including pleadings, briefs, and discovery documents, is crucial for this role.
• Experience in Defense Litigation is desirable, as the Legal Assistant may need to assist in the preparation of defense strategies, arguments, and testimonies.
