We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a DevOps (AWS, Ansible, Terraform, Docker) IV in Washington, DC. This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills, who can effectively collaborate with various teams and communicate at all levels within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborating with Software Development teams, Product Managers, and Business Owners to ensure the smooth operation and deployment of systems
• Building and managing CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate both large and small-scale system provisioning and deployments
• Using automation tools to monitor system health and reliability in order to support business process requirements
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues across development, test, and production environments
• Communicating status updates and potential risks to product teams
• Streamlining operations and processes through automation
• Developing and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations
• Leveraging AWS technologies and other cloud providers to optimize costs and improve operational efficiency
• Ensuring security and risk mitigation through technology
• Utilizing automation tools such as Puppet, Terraform, CHEF, or Ansible
• Working with technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, PostGres, MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, microservices, and message queues
• Applying knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TravisCI, CircleCI, AppVeyor, etc
• Employing Git or other version control tools and working in an Agile environment
• Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of modern platform technologies and industry-standard methodologies
• Applying experience in financial services to manage database operations.
• Proven experience with AWS Technologies, including cost optimization and security measures
• Proficiency in using Ansible and Terraform for automation and configuration management
• Expertise in Docker for streamlining deployments and mitigating potential issues
• Strong understanding of MySQL for database management
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology and its application in a DevOps context
• Proficiency in Python and Go programming languages
• Experience with cloud technologies, including operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Ability to supervise team members and report on project progress
• Experience in implementing new systems and resolving issues efficiently
• Knowledge of UNIX and Linux operating systems
• Background in financial services industry is preferred
• Ability to optimize operations and processes through effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance
• A strong understanding of security protocols and mitigation strategies.
