    Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking for a dedicated Accounting Manager to join our team in Visalia, California. This role is vital for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and leading the accounting department with strong organizational and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in nonprofit accounting and a commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.


    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage the accounting department, providing guidance and supervision to team members.

    • Oversee financial operations, including general ledger management, cash flow monitoring, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.

    • Conduct monthly reconciliations, such as bank statements and grant accounts, to ensure accuracy.

    • Execute month-end closing procedures, prepare detailed financial reports, and present findings to the board of directors and leadership team.

    • Ensure compliance with grant and contract fiscal reporting requirements by collaborating across departments.

    • Plan and coordinate annual audits, ensuring all processes are completed efficiently and accurately.

    • Prepare and submit required tax returns while adhering to applicable regulations.

    • Develop and implement effective fiscal policies to support organizational goals.

    • Monitor federal grant award management regulations and ensure adherence to funding agency requirements.

    • Address additional tasks as assigned to support the organization’s financial health and mission.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least five years of experience in nonprofit or fund accounting.

    • Extensive experience in grant and fund accounting, including compliance with federal regulations such as 2 CFR 200.

    • Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and preparing financial statements.

    • Solid knowledge of Excel and other financial software tools.

    • Strong background in budgeting processes and financial planning.

    • Demonstrated ability to supervise teams and manage departmental operations effectively.

    • Familiarity with nonprofit/governmental financial audits, including A-133 audits.

    • Exceptional communication skills to interact with peers, vendors, and management effectively.
