Position Summary
The Controller will manage financial and accounting functions, ensures that accounting procedures conform to GAAP, and that internal policies and controls are followed.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepares and\or oversees the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual, and periodic accounting and financial information including variance reports, budgets, financial statements, and forecasts
- Ensures integrity of financial records by maintaining a strong internal control environment in compliance with GAAP
- Prepares analyses for and acts as liaison with internal and external auditors
- Manages month-end close process
- Manages implementation of corporate accounting-related initiatives
- Assists with the preparation of the annual operating budget
- Evaluates and recommends changes to accounting and accounting-related policies, procedures, practices, and methods
- Trains and supports staff in a variety of areas
- Prepares ad hoc reports and works on special projects as requested
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA preferred
- 7+ years senior-level finance or accounting experience
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
- Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting
