Olivia from Robert Half is hiring for a Business Analyst in the Syracuse area.

The Business Analyst will work closely with the Data Team to define and document requirements for new features, integrations, and system improvements. This role is responsible for authoring data stories and tickets, prioritizing work for development sprints, and collaborating with engineers to ensure smooth execution.
The BSA will focus on data-driven projects, particularly CRM integrations and API-related work, and will act as a bridge between stakeholders and development teams. They must be adaptable, comfortable with shifting priorities, and capable of working with multiple engineering teams. Unlike traditional product support roles, this position is more strategic, requiring experience with newer products and an ability to drive technical requirements in an evolving environment.
The ideal candidate has authored user stories and requirements before, thrives in fast-paced, changing environments, and has experience with data-centric projects—but does not need a banking/finance background.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 5+ years as a technical business analyst across multiple projects.
- Experience gathering detailed requirements, designing feature-based systems and supporting the software development life cycle.
- Understanding of project management and quality assurance roles within the SDLC and Agile development methodology.
- Innovative, analytical thinker to design solutions to problems and integration into other information systems, internally and externally.
- Experience using tools for agile software development teams such as Jira, MindView, Miro, and Visio for process and workflow modeling.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with multiple software development life cycle methodologies (including 2+ years of Agile) and requirements' documentation approaches (features, user stories, domain models, logical data models).
