We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in Santa Monica, California. In this role, you will be tasked with handling a variety of accounting duties, including the processing of financial transactions, payroll administration, and preparation of financial reports.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
• Conduct Bank Account Reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Administer payroll processes, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time
• Prepare budgets, financial statements, and reports to support strategic decision making
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including timely filing and payment of taxes
• Oversee Insurance Renewal & Claims Management to protect the company's assets
• Manage cash flow and maintain financial stability for the company
• Assist in the preparation of annual tax documents to ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Act as a liaison between the company and outside vendors, fostering productive relationships
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed
• Perform month-end close procedures and maintain the general ledger
• Process prepaid expenses and journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
• Utilize accounting software, such as Sage, for efficient financial management.
• Candidate must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial
• Demonstrated experience in conducting bank reconciliations is required
• Must have a strong understanding of the general ledger and the ability to maintain it efficiently
• Should be capable of preparing and making journal entries with accuracy
• Experience in executing the month-end close process is mandatory
• Proficiency in Sage or similar accounting software is necessary
• Must be able to manage prepaid expenses and understand the associated accounting procedures
