Robert Half Legal is partnering with a music publishing company seeking a Licensing and Copyright Assistant to join their team. This is a contract role expected to last 6 to 9 months. It is 5 days on site in Santa Monica.
Job Description:
- Manage podcast licensing, including intake, negotiation, issuing licenses/invoices, and tracking payments.
- Handle takedowns by sending and tracking DMCA/Cease and Desist letters.
- Oversee the Harry Fox license queue, including intake, research, and approval or denial of licenses.
- Verify label copy through Music Data Exchange and email, and confirm shares.
- Identify potential recording matches, review, and respond to MLC (Mechanical Licensing Collective) inquiries.
- Organize and research copyright files for conflicts (MLC + YouTube), track replies, and provide backup documentation.
- Review and organize legal contracts for archival purposes.
- Conduct copyright research and perform data entry
