We are looking for a diligent part-time Bookkeeper to support our operations in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank accounts, and providing general office assistance. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity in the industry.
Responsibilities:
• Handling the processing of accounts payable and receivable with accuracy.
• Assisting in reconciling bank accounts to ensure financial data accuracy.
• Providing general office support, including managing filing systems, typing, and handling telephones.
• Assisting in the preparation of preliminary financial statements to provide accurate financial information.
• Engaging in research to resolve issues related to accounts payable and commercial collections.
• Assisting the General Manager with research or administrative projects as needed.
• Fostering and maintaining service-oriented relationships with tenants, residents, property vendors, and employees.
• Collecting, verifying, and distributing reports as needed.
• Assisting with the organization and execution of employee goodwill programs, manager seminars, and meetings.
• Proficient in bookkeeping practices and principles.
• Strong knowledge in financial data analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrable experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data.
• Familiarity with applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive company information.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and comfortable working independently.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a bookkeeper in a comparable role.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
