We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in San Juan Capistrano, California. In this role, you will be expected to perform a range of accounting tasks, from preparing journal entries to reconciling accounts. Your work will be essential to the smooth running of the accounting department and the accurate maintenance of our financial records.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and document routine journal entries in a systematic manner.
• Carry out account reconciliations, including cash and other assignments, on a regular basis.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of Profit & Loss (P& L) lines to the General Ledger (GL).
• Review the distribution of Accounts Payable (AP) and trade of Accounts Receivable (AR) to GL for consistent coding.
• Perform analysis of financial reports and accounts as needed.
• Provide support for annual financial audits and other regulatory audits.
• Maintain accounting reports and files in an orderly and easily accessible manner.
• Participate in yearly inventory counts and Branch Cash Audits.
• Handle special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
• Maintain business confidentiality in relation to business strategy, personnel, pricing, promotions, customer lists, financial reports, systems, and methods of distribution.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures
• Solid understanding and experience with bank reconciliations
• Demonstrated ability to maintain and manage general ledger
• Proficient in creating and posting journal entries
• Experience with month end close processes
• Familiarity with NetSuite financial software
• Proficiency in Oracle financial management software
• Experience with QuickBooks accounting software
• Knowledge of SAP financial software
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
