    Robert Half is seeking an experienced senior accountant to join our team on a contract basis, supporting one of our undisclosed property management clients. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong background in real estate accounting, CAM reconciliations, and financial reporting for property management companies. If you have experience handling financial operations for commercial or residential properties, we encourage you to apply.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee financial reporting for multiple properties, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry regulations.
    • Manage month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
    • Prepare and analyze budget-to-actual reports for property owners and management teams.
    • Perform Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations, ensuring accurate tenant billing and expense allocations.
    • Track rent rolls, lease escalations, and tenant reimbursements to ensure proper revenue recognition.
    • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely payments to vendors and accurate tenant invoicing.
    • Assist with property tax filings, sales tax reporting, and compliance documentation.
    • Prepare cash flow projections and variance analysis to support property management decisions.
    • Work closely with property managers, leasing teams, and asset managers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls.


    Qualifications & Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
    • Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in property management or real estate accounting.
    • Strong knowledge of CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and property financials.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
    • Experience with real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage, AppFolio).
    • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a portfolio-driven environment.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with property managers, tenants, and owners.
