Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented financial analyst to join our team on a contract basis, supporting one of our undisclosed nonprofit clients. This role is ideal for an analytical professional with experience in financial planning, grant reporting, and budgeting within the nonprofit sector. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, program budgets, and grant expenditures to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Prepare and maintain budget-to-actual reports, identifying key variances and providing recommendations.
- Assist in grant reporting, ensuring financial transparency and compliance with donor restrictions.
- Develop financial models to support strategic planning and funding decisions.
- Monitor and track restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring proper allocation and reporting.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial projections to assist leadership with decision-making.
- Conduct cost analysis on program expenses to optimize resource allocation.
- Support audit preparation, gathering necessary financial documentation and assisting with external auditor requests.
- Collaborate with program managers and finance teams to improve budget accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and data integrity.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of financial analysis experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong understanding of fund accounting, grant management, and nonprofit financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Experience with nonprofit accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Nonprofit, Blackbaud, Sage Intacct, MIP Fund Accounting).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with program managers, leadership, and external funders.
