We are seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our plaintiff's side law firm based in Salinas, California. This role largely operates within the legal industry, focusing on litigation cases concerning a variety of subjects such as pesticides, wildfires, and mass torts. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who is well-versed in California rules, procedures, and a strong foundation in civil litigation.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process litigation cases concerning mass torts and personal injury cases.
• Manage and maintain accurate client records and case details.
• Utilize Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, CompuLaw, and other relevant software for case management and other related tasks.
• Keep up to date with California rules and procedures, local rules, and filings.
• Administer claims and manage calendar to ensure timely action on cases.
• Conduct briefing and handle billing functions as necessary.
• Engage in discovery work and e-filing as part of the litigation process.
• Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the litigation process.
• Train on the established process as necessary, but able to function independently without ground-up training.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal
• Experience with Case Management Software
• Proficient in Calendar Management
• Excellent Communication skills
• Previous Civil Litigation Experience
• Experience with Personal Injury Plaintiffs
• Familiarity with Discovery process
• Proficient in e-Filing
