We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Lafayette, Louisiana, on a short-term contract with potential for long-term employment. This position involves managing payroll operations for a workforce of approximately 1,200 employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will play a vital role in maintaining smooth payroll processes while also handling related accounts payable tasks. Responsibilities:• Process complete payroll cycles for hourly and salaried employees, including weekly and bi-weekly runs.• Ensure accuracy in multi-state payroll operations, with the majority of employees located in Louisiana.• Conduct payroll reconciliations to verify data integrity and compliance.• Oversee occasional 10-99 payments, particularly during periods of increased activity.• Manage accounts payable tasks, such as processing invoices for expenses, fuel, and screenings.• Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice or payment-related issues.• Utilize Vista Payroll software to ensure efficient payroll processing.• Maintain detailed records and ensure adherence to payroll regulations.• Collaborate with team members to improve payroll and AP processes.
