Starting Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + bonus

Location: Saginaw, MI (hybrid)

Robert Half is partnering with one of their well-established clients on their recruitment efforts to find a full-time, direct hire, Cost Accountant. This is a hybrid opportunity with the ability to work remotely a couple days a week, flexible schedule, and a 40-hour work week. The main function of this role is to act as a liaison between the accounting and quoting departments, analyzing cost data for current and upcoming projects. This role will also provide cost consulting to various departments within the organization as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and develop proper controls over the costing system in line with established procedures and specific work instructions.

• Review and manage alterations in contracts.

• Ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of proposal costing/pricing prior to submission.

• Uphold adherence to documented processes and procedures through execution of internal audit functions.

• Oversee improvements in the quote system related to costing and/or other related accounting functions.

• Undertake intermittent project costing.

• Provide support to other departments within the organization concerning cost and accounting.

• Utilize your knowledge of cost accounting and federal government contracts to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Apply your skills in audit functions to ensure compliance and accuracy in all accounting processes.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

• 3-5 years of cost accounting experience

• Proficiency in federal government contracts is preferred.

• Candidates should have experience with audit functions in a financial setting.

• Ability to analyze financial data and draw logical conclusions is a necessity.

• The candidate should be adept at communicating complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
