Amanda Warren is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in Sacramento, California. This role is primarily focused on maintaining general ledgers, managing real estate investments, financial statement audits, and tax compliance. You will also play a vital role in cash planning and management, annual budget preparation, and handling various financial projects.
Responsibilities:
• Keep the general ledgers updated for all office companies.
• Responsible for closing books and producing financial reporting packages on a regular basis.
• Oversee and manage information related to real estate investments, including maintaining a schedule of owned real estate and forecasting net operating income.
• Keep track of outstanding debt and other contingencies.
• Plan and manage cash, including performing treasury duties for owner bank accounts and forecasting future cash needs.
• Conduct financial statement audits for owner entities.
• Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate project financial reporting for owners, investors, and lenders in accordance with GAAP.
• Carry out general ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closings, including daily entries, recurring journal entries, and posting accruals.
• Handle cash management and banking issues and ensure mortgages, property taxes, and impounds are paid and current.
• Safeguard organization's value by maintaining confidentiality of information.
• Coordinate outsourced tax return preparation for office entities and conduct research to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Stay updated with tax changes and industry trends.
• Collaborate with multiple CPA firms to coordinate and execute tax compliance work and tax planning work.
• Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting.
• Proficiency in annual tax procedures and regulations is required.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential.
• The applicant should hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or other relevant certification is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements is a must.
• The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
