Hannah Savage with Robert Half is seeking an HR Generalist to join her client's team in ROCHESTER, New York with hybrid flexibility to work from home on occasion. In this role, you will be working in the service industry, acting as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, maintaining compliance with employment laws and regulations, benefit administration, and supporting talent management initiatives. Top candidates will have prior background with generalist HR functions, especially benefit administration/reporting, and will have an energetic attitude!
Responsibilities:
• Act as a primary contact for employees’ inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
• Coordinate the new permanent employee benefit enrollment process to ensure a smooth transition for new team members.
• Support compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Ensure the accuracy of employee records in HR systems.
• Performance reviews, training, and development.
• Manage benefit reconciliation on a weekly and monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Work closely with payroll
• Prepare and maintain reports related to benefits, identifying trends, errors, or gaps in the reconciliation process.
• Assist with open enrollment processes, including coordinating communications, tracking enrollments, and updating the system.
• Provide training and support to employees on benefit offerings and related enrollment or claim processes.
• Participate in HR initiatives, projects, and process improvements.
• Assist in the creation and updating of HR policies and procedures.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a HR Generalist role or similar capacity
• Proven experience with Benefit Functions, including managing and administering employee benefits
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information across all levels of the organization
• Strong understanding of Compliance requirements in the HR field, with the ability to ensure company policies and practices adhere to regulatory standards
• Demonstrated ability in handling Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and employee engagement activities
• Strong knowledge utilizing MS Excel
• Proficiency in Human Resources (HR) Administration tasks such as onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and maintaining employee records.
