    We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the higher education industry based in River Forest, Illinois. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. In this role, you will be central to our financial operations, focusing on account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Your expertise in closing financial books will be integral to our operations.


    Responsibilities

    • Handle account reconciliation tasks with precision and efficiency

    • Perform balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting

    • Manage bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for

    • Utilize your skills in Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to manage and analyze financial data

    • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly financial close process

    • Assist in closing the financial year, ensuring all accounts and ledgers are accurate

    • Support the team in preparing for audits by ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date

    • Work closely with the team to ensure financial aid is efficiently distributed to students

    • Contribute to the financial planning and strategy discussions within the organization

    • Ensure financial operations align with the financial policies and regulations of the higher education sector.

    • Proven experience in the Higher Education industry is essential.
    • Must hold a senior-level position as an Accountant.
    • Demonstrated ability in Account Reconciliation is required.
    • Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is necessary.
    • Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations is a must.
    • Should have a strong understanding of General Ledger management.
    • Capability to handle Journal Entries is crucial.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
    • Experience in Month End Close procedures is needed.
    • Knowledge of NetSuite is a must.
    • Familiarity with Oracle is essential.
    • Experience with SAP is necessary.
