We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Buyer in Ridgeland, South Carolina. The selected candidate will be expected to perform a range of purchasing duties that require a deep understanding of specialized areas such as construction, contract administration, or complex procurement methods for detail oriented and non-detail oriented services.
Responsibilities
• Carry out buying tasks of moderate to complex difficulty across all areas of government.
• Undertake procurement of supplies, equipment, services, and detail oriented services, ensuring compliance with County, State, and Federal regulations.
• Draft invitations for bids, requests for proposals, and requests for qualifications.
• Engage in contract negotiations with suppliers.
• Manage and maintain relationships with vendors.
• Study and comprehend market trends.
• Pinpoint opportunities for cost savings.
• Supervise complex purchasing activities and work collaboratively with Director to ensure timely delivery and alignment with county goals.
• Execute other related duties as assigned.
• Proficient knowledge of Chef software for system and infrastructure automation.
• Solid experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and familiarity with Epicor ERP software.
• Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging ERP solutions to optimize buying processes.
• Experience with About Time software for workforce management.
• Ability to perform accounting functions, with a focus on managing Accounts Payable (AP).
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of buying processes within a government framework.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
