PAYROLL SPECIALIST - Growth position, future managerial opportunity

My client, a manufacturer located south of Atlanta is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team for an immediate, direct hire opportunity. This role will be responsible for inputting and maintaining hourly payroll, which includes updating and changing files in accordance to new hires, changes, and terminations. This role will remotely report to a Payroll Manager in a regional office outside Atlanta.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Input and maintain salaried payroll data including new hires, changes, and terminations for approximately 500+ employees across the US. Ensure compliance and internal controls.
• Responsible for full cycle payroll processing on a biweekly schedule.
• Investigate and resolve employee payroll questions as required
• Act as backup to other payroll specialists within department.
• Assist hourly employees with various benefit inquiries.
• Ensure benefit forms are completed accurately and eligibility is in compliance.
• Monitor third-party benefits administration of COBRA.
• Provide FMLA and other leave of absence administration support to operations.
• Complete bi-weekly general ledger interface for accounting.
• Complete month-end tasks as assigned.

• 3+ years experience in processing high-volume and US multi-state payroll
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation highly preferred
• Advanced Micrsoft Office skills (Microsoft Excel - Vlookups, pivot tables, data analysis)
• Experience reconciling payroll-related general ledger accounts
• Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly desired
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills required
