    Key Responsibilities:


    • Collect, organize, and maintain medical records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies.
    • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems efficiently, such as Cerner or Epic, to update and retrieve patient information.
    • Audit medical records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all necessary information is documented.
    • Protect the confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA rules and regulations.
    • Respond to health information requests from patients, physicians, and insurance companies.
    • Assist healthcare providers and administrative staff in accessing medical records during patient care and audits.
    • Manage archiving and disposal of outdated patient records according to retention policies.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to managing patient information within EMR systems.



    • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certifications.
    • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Cerner and Epic.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical record-keeping best practices.
    • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding concepts.
