Our client, an innovative healthcare startup, is seeking a mid-level paralegal to join their team on a full-time, remote basis. The company specializes in acquiring, investing in, and commercializing biomedical data assets, which are then sold to the pharmaceutical industry to support drug development.
Who We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have experience working with or within healthcare systems and a strong background in transactional and corporate law. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in a growing startup, making it an excellent fit for a paralegal with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage transactional data assets and assist with corporate transactions.
- Draft and review contracts related to healthcare and biomedical data.
- Prepare incorporation and formation documents, including tax-related filings.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, HIPAA, Common Rule, and privacy laws.
- Handle confidential records and sensitive business information with discretion.

Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a healthcare paralegal (preferred experience in an academic medical center, hospital, healthcare system, or specialized healthcare law firm).
- Strong experience in data transactions, particularly with health systems such as academic medical centers and hospitals.
- Compliance expertise in HIPAA, Common Rule, and general privacy/regulatory matters.
- Corporate law experience, including setting up LLCs and new companies.
- Strong contract drafting, transactional law, and corporate governance skills.
- Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree (or equivalent relevant work experience).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle confidential information with professionalism.
