We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer to join our team in the transportation industry based in OAK BROOK, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining essential software applications and integrations, focusing on integrating various commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software packages and external systems.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with senior staff to analyze, design, test, and deploy solutions that support core business operations.
• Work with APIs to extract vendor data, store it in SQL Server databases, and make it accessible for reporting, compliance, safety monitoring, and business intelligence.
• Enhance computing systems and data reporting through automation.
• Participate actively in team efforts to learn and solve problems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including database performance optimization.
• Provide user support and address programming-related requests.
• Maintain thorough documentation using tools like IT Glue, Zendesk, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
• Participate actively in daily stand-up meetings and weekly goal setting.
• Adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and change control policies.
• Develop and document applications in collaboration with users, business process owners, and vendors.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in software development within the transport industry
• Proficient in GitHub for version control
• Experience in API development
• Familiarity with ASP.NET framework
• Knowledge of SQL for database management
• Experience with Workday HR and finance software
• Proficient in C Sharp Programming (C#)
• Experience with Zendesk customer service software
