We are seeking a Receptionist for our healthcare facility based in NORTHPORT, New York. In this role, you will be expected to manage a variety of clerical tasks, including answering incoming calls and welcoming visitors. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining order in a busy medical office environment, offering a short-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
• Handle incoming calls professionally and efficiently, directing them to the appropriate personnel or department
• Meet and greet visitors, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a welcoming environment
• Perform light clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and data entry
• Maintain a clean and organized reception area to enhance patient experience
• Assist in maintaining accurate patient records and scheduling appointments as required
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth office operations
• Support other administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient office operations.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed
• Experience in a healthcare, hospital, or social assistance setting preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures
• Strong customer service skills with a patient-centric approach
• High school diploma or equivalent required, further education in medical administration is a plus
• Previous experience in a receptionist role or similar position
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Availability to work part-time hours, including some evenings and weekends
• Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems will be advantageous
• Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently when required.
