Job Opportunity: Desktop Analyst (Contract)
Are you a skilled IT professional passionate about problem-solving and improving organizational infrastructure? We’re seeking a Desktop Analyst to join a dynamic team where you’ll play a critical role in evaluating, prioritizing, and coordinating technical support to meet evolving IT needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully evaluate hardware and software requests to support IT requirements.
- Prioritize and manage case workflows while resolving client escalations.
- Troubleshoot issues related to operating systems, hardware, and desktop-based security methodologies.
- Provide support for multi-platform environments including applications and systems such as Windows XP/2000 Professional, Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange, and Citrix Access Gateway.
- Install and configure non-standard and legacy applications as needed.
- Assist in resolving advanced technical issues and contribute to IT projects of moderate size and organizational impact.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities in advanced infrastructure settings, including Windows operating systems and Ethernet/TCP-IP protocols.
- Familiarity with hardware from providers such as HP and Dell.
- Experience in project coordination, including managing workflows and escalations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a solid understanding of IT infrastructure technologies.
- Great problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
Requirements
- Two-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience supporting high-availability, multi-platform environments.
- Willingness to travel periodically to support business initiatives.
- Flexibility to provide after-hours and weekend support in a rotating schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in advanced troubleshooting of hardware and software configurations.
- Working familiarity with Symantec AV Suite, Visual Basic, and Altiris.
- Thorough understanding of business functions and IT applications relevant to technical operations.

- Ability to work independently or as part of a high-performance team.
- Capacity to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.
