    Job Title: People and Projects Liaison

    Location: APL, Long Beach CA

    Job Type: Part-Time

    Job Summary: The People and Projects Liaison will serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and concerns, providing support and guidance on HR-related matters. Additionally, this role will assist various HR projects, ensuring they align with our strategic goals all while engaging with various stakeholders.

    Salary: Based on experience (Please provide bill rate with all resumes submittals)

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Act as the main point of contact for employees, addressing questions and concerns related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
    • Provide support and guidance on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
    • Support HR projects by developing project plans, timelines, and milestones.
    • Monitor project progress, make necessary adjustments to ensure successful completion, and communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with HR Team members and other departments to achieve project objectives
    • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant labor laws.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in a HR generalist and/or HR project liaison role.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Respectful and professional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Culture change agent in a union environment
    • Experience in a blended HR role
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
    • Preference given to those with prior union experience, especially ILWU/OCU
