Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Printer Technician to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of printers and multifunction devices, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime for end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and test printers, copiers, and multifunction devices.
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues related to printers.
- Perform routine maintenance, including replacing toner, ink, and other consumables.
- Troubleshoot network printing issues and ensure proper connectivity.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on printer operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service requests.
- Collaborate with the IT team to integrate printers with existing network systems.
- Order and manage printer parts and supplies inventory.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and manufacturer guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Printer Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of various printer models (laser, inkjet, thermal, etc.).
- Familiarity with network printing protocols and configurations.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.
- Certifications from printer manufacturers (HP, Canon, Xerox, etc.) are a plus.
