We are inviting applications for the role of Payroll Specialist for a financial institution, located in Lisle, Illinois. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be tasked with the responsibility of managing payroll operations, ensuring accurate processing and maintaining compliance with legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process payroll for a significant number of employees across various pay groups in the U.S.
• Manage time and attendance records, ensuring seamless integration with payroll.
• Handle complex payroll aspects such as garnishments and multi-state tax withholdings.
• Collaborate closely with senior payroll specialists for training and guidance.
• Act as a primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries within the team.
• Contribute to a positive team dynamic and efficient workflow.
• Utilize specific software for payroll processing and ensure its functionality is maintained.
• Oversee the approval and processing of time entries, time off requests, and ad hoc payments.
• Work closely with the Tax and Legal departments to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Perform thorough payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role within the banking industry.
• Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems for payroll processing.
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now is essential.
• Utilize UKG/UltiPro for payroll processing, ensuring system functionality is maintained.
- Familiarity with Workforce Management (WFM) software is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in 401k - RRSP Administration.
• Proficiency in using About Time software is a plus.
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions related to payroll.
• Proven experience in Auditing payroll records and processes.
• Ability to handle Benefit Functions and related payroll procedures.
