    We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Jacksboro, Tennessee. The role involves working in a manufacturing and distribution industry, focusing on managing high-volume accounts payable transactions and a variety of accounting tasks. The workplace entails on-site work and the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid role in the future.


    Responsibilities:


    • Accurately process a high volume of invoices within a 3-way matching system to ensure proper purchase order alignment.

    • Collaborate with vendors to address any invoice discrepancies or payment issues and ensure smooth transactions.

    • Handle and reconcile goods receipt, comparing and aligning them with corresponding invoices and purchase orders.

    • Regularly perform credit card reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies that arise.

    • Execute payment proposals and participate in weekly payment runs to maintain timely and accurate payments.

    • Review and process expense reports, cross-verifying receipts with the submitted claims.

    • Serve as the primary contact for inquiries related to invoice or payment processing within the accounts payable department.

    • Maintain and reconcile bills of lading to invoice records to ensure comprehensive and accurate documentation.

    • Utilize accounting software like AS400 or SAP to efficiently manage and process large amounts of data.

    • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar position
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
    • Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems is essential
    • Familiarity with a variety of Accounting Functions, with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Knowledgeable in Accrual Accounting principles and practices
    • Proven experience in Invoice Processing, including accuracy and timeliness
    • Ability to perform 3 Way Matching tasks effectively
    • Experience in Credit Card Reconciliation and handling Credit Card Receipts
    • Proficiency in AS400 system is a plus
    • Experience with SAP software is highly desirable
