We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Product Manager in Houston, Texas. As a part of the financial services industry, the role would involve managing various product lines or features, keeping in mind the intended customer and competition.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of financial products such as credit card portfolios, ensuring their profit and loss are well managed.
• Develop the business strategy for the product in alignment with the company's business model.
• Analyze the market competition and user requirements to guide the product development process.
• Coordinate with project and program managers for schedule, resource, and cross-functional execution.
• Work closely with the product marketing manager to support outbound marketing activities of the product.
• Utilize IT project management skills to manage the development and release of product features.
• Distinguish the role from similar roles such as Project Manager, Program Manager, and Product Owner, focusing on overall product management rather than individual features or project schedules.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a product management role
• Proven proficiency in IT project management
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrable experience with product lifecycle management
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to think outside the box and roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Experience in market research and product testing
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Proficient in productivity software and tools
• Strong understanding of business and financial principles involved in product management
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and principles is a plus.
