    About the Role

    Midstream O& G company in Houston is looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team. This position supports our midstream oil & gas operations and is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the midstream sector.

    Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

    • Perform general ledger accounting, including preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.
    • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
    • Assist in revenue and expense recognition for midstream assets and operations.
    • Prepare and analyze variance reports to track operational and financial performance.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
    • Support intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    Staff Accountant Requirements:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • Experience: 2-5 years of accounting experience, with exposure to midstream oil & gas preferred.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and midstream-specific accounting principles.
    • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience in FERC accounting or regulatory reporting.
    • Knowledge of midstream contracts, such as transportation and processing agreements.
    • CPA or CPA-eligible is a plus.
