Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client in Hayward, CA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven nonprofit organization while ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit accounting, proficiency in Tyler Munis or Eden software, and a strong understanding of financial reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports in compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
- Reconcile accounts, process invoices, and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and industry best practices.
- Utilize Tyler Munis or Eden software to process transactions, maintain financial records, and generate reports.
- Collaborate with internal departments to address financial inquiries and provide financial insights to leadership.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, grant reporting, and audits.
- Participate in special projects, process improvements, and system implementations as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or construction/manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Tyler Munis or Eden software for financial processing and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial reporting, fund accounting, and grant compliance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
