Robert Half is working with a local company who is offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. The position is based in Gig Harbor, WA, and is primarily responsible for application and implementation of general accounting procedures and methods. This includes examining and reviewing financial records and ensuring data is allocated correctly as well as preparation and analysis of financial reports and audits.
Responsibilities Include:
• Efficiently and accurately process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks.
• Support the organization's credit card program and handle related administrative duties.
• Participate in the month-end close processes.
• Process monthly, quarterly, and annual state and local tax returns.
• Prepare journal entries and provide necessary backup.
• Solve intercompany accounting issues across multiple businesses.
• Maintain and update general ledger account reconciliations.
• Prepare and process bank deposits and reconcile bank accounts.
• Implement systems and process improvements.
• Prepare and file 1099 tax returns.
• Participate in year-end processes for tax preparation/filing and financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of various ad hoc financial reports.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 annually. • 2 or 4 year degree in finance/accounting or related is strongly preferred. Extensive experience in Construction Accounting could suffice.
• Understanding of Job Cost procedures within the construction industry
• Knowledge of Construction Accounting principles
• Experience with Sage 300 accounting software
• Ability to manage Cash effectively and efficiently
• Proficiency in Financial Reporting within the construction industry
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Ability to accurately record Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
