Responsibilities:
• Provide legal assistance to clients in the form of advice, referrals, or actual representation.
• Undertake interviews to certify eligibility and identify the legal problems of clients within a specified area of law.
• Actively participate in outreach initiatives to promote the organization's services and mission.
• Represent clients in court and before administrative agencies as necessary.
• Ensure the provision of required documentation, statistical information, and other records.
• Participate in meetings to discuss and accept cases.
• Engage in legally relevant training and other programs to maintain Continuing Legal Education (CLE) as mandated by Florida Bar rules.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and treat clients and staff with courtesy and respect.
• Serve as a role model to support staff, promoting the values of hard work, high-quality advocacy, and respectful treatment of others.
• Strive to ensure the accessibility of local offices to serve diverse clients, including those in rural areas, non-English speakers, and clients with disabilities.
• Foster good relations with the public, including client groups, service providers, press, and private bar, attending or speaking at local meetings as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain familiarity with the organization's policies, as well as requirements of LEGAL SERVICES CORPORATION, CSC, and other funders, adhering to those policies and requirements.
• Maintain an accurate follow-up system to review cases when needed.
• Handle other duties as assigned by superiors.
• Possession of a valid license to practice law
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Family Law Attorney
• Proficiency in using 3M and Adobe Acrobat
• Demonstrated experience in case management software
• Familiarity with Conveyancer software
• Excellent document management skills
• Experience in briefing and civil litigation
• Proficiency in claim administration
• Proven track record in handling complaints effectively
• Knowledge of consumer electronics
• Prior experience working in a non-profit organization will be advantageous
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of detail orientation and integrity.
