We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This role is in the healthcare and social assistance industry, where you will be providing vital support within a local medical facility.
Key responsibilities:
• Accurately process applications related to customer credit in a timely manner
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer credit
• Resolve any customer inquiries promptly and professionally
• Monitor customer accounts regularly and initiate appropriate action when necessary
• Provide support within the medical billing department
• Ensure all billing information and records are up-to-date
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the medical facility
• Adhere to all healthcare, hospital, and social assistance industry standards and regulations.
• Proficient in medical billing procedures and terminology.
• Previous experience in a healthcare, hospital, or social assistance setting is mandatory.
• Familiarity with medical codes such as ICD-10 and CPT.
• Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
• Strong knowledge in insurance procedures, regulations, and policies.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Understanding of patient billing practices and healthcare reimbursement methods.
• Strong data entry skills with an ability to identify billing errors and rectify them.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A relevant certification in medical billing or a related field would be advantageous.
