We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Application Support Engineer in Lincolnshire, Illinois. This role involves serving as a crucial technical link among various teams, ensuring the accurate specification, estimation, and execution of electrical switchgear and related products. The job function spans across customer interaction, project management, and technical support within the industry.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently handle technical queries from customers, providing clarifications and modifications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist the sales and estimating teams by investigating industry standards, documenting requirements, and preparing comprehensive quotations.
• Monitor and evaluate project performance, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 standards, cost targets, and customer expectations.
• Facilitate the technical design process for customer projects, including selecting materials, preparing documentation, and creating bills of materials.
• Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
• Ensure all sales orders are in accordance with contract requirements, company capabilities, and customer needs, supporting accuracy in pricing and scope.
• Act as the primary liaison for customers on technical issues.
• Work closely with project managers to monitor manufacturing progress, address potential field service issues, and assist with after-sales support, including training and warranty management.
• Develop and support documentation, including submissions, technical drawings, operation manuals, and as-built packages.
• Continuously refine estimation accuracy, sales processes, and project execution strategies through data analysis and customer feedback.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role as an Application Support Engineer
• Strong customer service skills are required, with a focus on providing exceptional support to end users
• Proficiency in CAD software is a necessity, as it is integral to the role
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must for clear and effective interaction with team members and clients
• A good understanding and experience with MRP systems is necessary for the role, as it is a key component of the job function.
