We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in Enfield, Connecticut. In this position, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various accounting activities within our organization. You will be responsible for managing the monthly closure process, assisting with the preparation and review of journal entries, and conducting account reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations
• Manage the monthly close process to ensure timeliness and accuracy
• Assist in the preparation of journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• Review and approve journal entries prepared by the accounting team
• Conduct detailed account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and report generation
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes
• Monitor and update financial records for accuracy.
• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role in the financial sector
• Comprehensive knowledge of the month-end close process
• Proficient in preparing and posting journal entries
• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy in work
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex financial data
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus.
