We are offering an exciting opportunity in the education industry at our location in DENTON, Texas, 76205, United States. The role is for a Network Architect who will have a significant impact on the design, implementation, and management of our organization's network infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of network architecture and a strategic vision for future network developments.
Responsibilities
• Designing, implementing, and managing the organization's network infrastructure
• Collaborating closely with senior management, IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders
• Ensuring network infrastructure supports the organization's goals
• Overseeing complex projects related to network performance and compliance
• Optimizing network performance and ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Managing costs related to the network infrastructure effectively
• Applying knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies
• Ensuring the safety and security of the network infrastructure
• Implementing network security design, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention, and Zero Trust architectures
• Utilizing experience with DNS and application load-balancing solutions (Infoblox, F5)
• Applying hands-on experience with technologies from Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Infoblox
• Applying strong understanding of Juniper switching and campus networks, including EVPN-VXLAN and micro-segmentation
• Utilizing experience with Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, including security policies and advanced threat protection
• Applying experience with Juniper WAN and routing, including BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role within the education or related industry.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with Cisco Technologies, including Cisco Routers.
• Proficiency in Configuration Management, ensuring effective and efficient system operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of Connectivity principles and technologies.
• Experience with Juniper Networks, including Juniper Routers, Juniper SRX, and Juniper Switches.
• Expertise in Network Architecture, with the ability to design, implement, and manage complex network systems.
• Familiarity with Infoblox is required.
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewall and Fortinet Firewalls, ensuring optimal network security.
• The ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly and effectively.
• Proven track record of maintaining high network performance standards and quality assurance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with other IT professionals and stakeholders.
• A commitment to continuous detail-oriented development and staying updated with the latest networking technologies and trends.
