    Communications Specialist – Contract – 30-40 hrs/week – Hybrid in Dallas, TX


    We are seeking a Communications Specialist for a 1-2 month contract to support our communications and marketing efforts. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with AP-style expertise who can execute communications requests efficiently and accurately. This role is execution-focused, with minimal strategy work required.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Write and edit press releases, media advisories, newsletters, flyers, and email pitches.
    • Execute communications requests quickly while adhering to AP style guidelines.
    • Attend meetings, take action items, and follow through on deliverables.
    • Assist with media pitching (preferred but not required).

    Top Qualifications:

    1. Strong writing and editing skills with expertise in AP style.
    2. Media relations and pitching experience (preferred).
    3. Ability to take action items from meetings and execute efficiently.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Familiarity with project management tools (preferred).

    This is a hybrid role based in Dallas, TX, requiring 30-40 hours per week for 1-2 months.
